Khanyi Dhlomo
Architect of African Media and Luxury Aspirations

Khanyi Dhlomo, a South African entrepreneur and media pioneer, has been instrumental in shaping how Africa sees itself and how the world sees Africa. Rising to prominence as a television presenter and later as the editor of True Love magazine, she transformed the publication into one of the most influential lifestyle magazines on the continent, foregrounding modern African stories and voices.
With the founding of Ndalo Media (creators of Destiny and Elle South Africa), Dhlomo built platforms that celebrated African business, style, and creativity, helping a generation of young professionals, especially women, to imagine bigger futures for themselves.
In later years, her luxury concept store Luminance challenged the boundaries of African retail, introducing a curated, global-meets-African approach to fashion and lifestyle.
Khanyi Dhlomo’s legacy lies in her role as a cultural gate-opener: she has broadened what African excellence looks like, nurtured creative careers in publishing and media, and shown that African narratives can occupy a space of aspiration and innovation on a global stage.
